In this post, I’ll explain in detail the hero Chun, how to get her, how to upgrade her skills and talent tree, and how to combine her with other heroes.
How to get Chun?
Similar to other heroes, you need to acquire 10 fragments. Chun is a roulette hero, which means you can acquire her solely by playing the Lucky Roulette (and winning 10 fragments) during the Ranged Top Commander event. You can also buy daily boost packs once Chun is available at the daily boost section in the mall to obtain her 10 fragments.
Talent trees
Chun main ability is Ranged Squad which means she is best used to lead ranged troops. It doesn’t mean you have to max out her ranged squad talent tree. Her two secondary abilities are general and skills, but the general talent tree is, in my opinion, completely useless. For maximum damage, I recommend fully upgrading her skill talent tree first and then investing some points in her ranged squad tree. Essentially, her talent trees would look like this:
Skills
- Her first skill is called Double Kill. Chun launches an attack in a straight line and can deal damage to 2 squads, if she hit only 1 enemy she increases her damage by 20%. Note: If she is appointed assistant, it will cut her damage factor by 50% and on the top of this. She is the only hero that requires 1200 rage to launch her skill.
- Her second skill is called Retribution, which restore rage when she got it by a skill. And there is up to 50% chance to inflict Silence to the enemy squad for 3 seconds which means the assistant hero of the enemy won’t be able to launch a skill. The silent effect can be triggered once every 6 seconds, essentially occurring once with every enemy’s skill damage.
- Her third skill is called Battle Elite. It increases the ranged squad HP and attack by up to 20%
- Her fourth skill is called Resilience, which increases the skill damage by up to 25% and the traveling speed by up to 30% when leading ranged troops only.
- Her awaken’s skill is called Swift Bolt and is an enhanced version of her first skill Double Kill. The damage factor has been increased to 13000 in stead of 12000. And if she hit only one squad, it increases the damage by 25% instead of 20%.
How to upgrade her skills?
For every fighting hero, you need to upgrade the 1st skill, the raging skill, first. I would upgrade the 2nd skill next, followed by the 4th, and finally the 3rd. The suggested order would be 1, 2, 4, 3. The idea is to increase the number of skills launched during the fight and therefore make more damage with the skills. That’s why you want to improve the second skill to get more rage and the 3rd skill to increase the skill damage. In the same time, you can reduce the damage taken with the silent effect of the second skill. When you start upgrading a skill, make sure you max it out before starting a new one. You receive more bonuses from the final level of a skill compared to its initial levels.
How to combine Chun?
First and foremost, Chun has to be the leader of your squad; otherwise, the damage of her raging skill will be halved. Secondly, she is a ranged squad hero and therefore it’s better to pair her with another ranged squad hero such as Louis, Julia, Jacob or Nakano. The best options to pair Chun with on the battlefield are as follows:
Chun/Louis: This squad has the best rage recovery and will alleviate the 1200 rage required from Chun. This is a very strong squad in the Arena of Doom or on the field.
Chun/Julia: This is an awesome squad to make a lot of damage on one enemy squad and block the squad to launch their skills.
Chun/Jacob: Great squad to make damage on multiple targets on the field or in the Arena of Doom.
Chun/Nakano: This is a good squad if you don’t have many upgraded hero as Nakano is available at the police station and you can get more of her fragments.
Chun/Seo or Chun/Akemi: If you have no legendary hero available Seo and Akemi are very good elite heroes to pair with Chun.
Conclusion
Chun is a great hero for dealing significant damage to your enemies. However, her rage requirement of 1200 is her weak point. She is still a very good hero to upgrade and you can use your legendary fragments on her. Nevertheless, I would probably choose to upgrade Julia to lead my ranged squad rather than Chun. If you are looking for multiple ranged squads on the field, I definitely recommend Chun as your second squad leader.
